Confession time: I’m a terrible beauty blogger. My ability to stick to a skincare routine in the past is almost laughable. While I’m vigilant with cleansing my face and trying to remove my make up, and if I was lucky, a little moisturiser. But after that, much of it had fallen by the wayside. So much so, that when I won the Clarins Double Serum in a competition, I tried it a couple of times, and it sat in my drawer unloved for too long. Enter me working on a product decrease, because NEWSFLASH! Things don’t get used up or work at all if you don’t use them, people! (sarcasm, much?)
Well, clearly I didn’t know what I was missing out on at the time. This little bottle is great!
It’s confession time. I have a problem. I can’t stick to one cleanser. Even when I find one I like (read: the lasttwo cleanser reviews I have posted) I still venture out into the big old world of untried brands. It’s bitten me on the bum before, but with this product, This Works’ Clean Skin Gentle Cleanser, I’m was torn.
Now for my skin, it’s been incredible. It has combat all my dryness and didn’t break me out. The rosehip oil in this has done wonders. It smells lovely and my boyfriend loves it (bonus points). It really is a fantastic cleanser.
Now, I’m sure for many of you this product is nothing new. You have probably seen it left, right and centre and many a beauty blogger scramble to find this and try it out. Although it appears as a cult product, I do know people who don’t feel its status is warranted. But today, I want to put my two cents in!
First of all, Bioderma is a micellar water. Rather than trying to explain it myself, go visit Michelle at Lab Muffin for an in depth and well explained post as to the ins and outs of how this works. Trust me, you’ll feel like an expert after reading it.
Now, I will preface this post by saying I’m pretty lucky when it comes to breakouts. I have never really suffered from terrible acne. But when I get breakouts, I get them BAD. Bad in the sense that they are the big, painful and hurt like a mother the whole time they are on your face. No white head to pop. Just sitting there taunting you with redness and PAIN. So naturally, I am always on the hunt to find products that decrease the time I feel like I have a red mountain of pain on my face.
I was lucky enough to be offered to try these products right in the middle of a time where I had just discovered my current cleanser was causing me to break out. I had two breakouts on my chin and neck that made me want to cry. Literally (FYI I have a low threshold for pain, but don’t let that distract you from how much pain I felt). I welcomed them with open arms into my routine and here are my thoughts.
