WELL. It’s nice to see you all back again, well, me more precisely. September has been a crazy busy month and the haul I’m about to show you is part of the reason why. Over the weekend of the 21st-22nd of September, IMATS was held in Sydney. I was so excited to go, not only to shop, but to see many of my friends again. But on to what today’s post is about: hauling. I ended up getting what I wanted plus a couple of things I wanted but didn’t realise would be there, bonus! I also made a couple of sneaky purchases during my weekend in Sydney I will share with you too.
I’m not one to shy away from a good sale, and 40% off all cosmetics at Priceline is just that. It is still on tomorrow (the 24th of April) so definitely go if you have been lusting after anything! Lets get into what I picked up 🙂
I got the Rimmel Perfect Match foundation since I loved the gel version so much, as well as the radiant rose highlighter. I also picked up the Revlon BB Cream, after hearing good things about it.
In January, I got the chance to visit the Illamasqua counter in Melbourne Central to enjoy a make over by one of the lovely make up artists. On a side note, I went in the opposite direction after getting off the train and had to rush, on a 30-something degree day! I essentially turned up looking like a tomato. Flustered as I was, I was greeted by the lovely Rebecca, who sat me down and after having a little chat all things awesome about Illamasqua, got started.
She matched me to their Skin Base Foundation, which I have already and love. However with their recently expanded range of shades, I now have an even closer match. It along with some concealer and powder, I was beginning to look a lot less like the hot (literally) mess I walked in looking like!
Next she used the Complement Palette on my eyes. The cream in this works as a great base and the light shade can not only be a highlight, but used over the other colours do create a whole new look! I then asked her to give me some tips on applying liquid eyeliner. I’m apparently blessed with big eyes, so going for a thicker line wouldn’t look bad. And after seeing the difference between her application and mine, I know what I was doing wrong!
Finally, was some blush, highlighter and a purple lip, which I was a little scared of, but the final look was great!. I loved how the look came together and was really perfect for a night out (too bad I had no where to go *sob*). Check out the photos below for how my look went! And big props to this look holding up another trip home in the heat before I took pictures 😉
Over the past few weeks or so, I’ve been on the hunt for a number of things, and wanted to pick up some old favourites, and it has been quite some time since I bought anything worthy of a haul post (and coming up to Christmas, there probably wont be in the near future either!) but as you will see, these are pretty exciting!
First of all, I stopped by Lush. I needed a new pot of Big shampoo because I have used it up. Buy far the best clarifying shampoo I have used. I also got to bring in my 5 empty pots for a free face mask. Oatifix is my choice, perfect for my dry skin (and with Melbourne weather up and down as it is, I need it!). My other two purchases were a couple of soaps from their Christmas range. Snow Globe has a lovely lemony scent, and Mr Punch smells like, well, punch actually. These blocks can last ages, just but cutting them up into pieces! Read More »
What a day this was. With a 21 hour round trip to Sydney, this was one of the longest, most fun days I’ve had. I shopped, a walked, I talked, I laughed, a hell of a lot. I got the chance to meet some amazing fellow bloggers. I will have a list of their blog links below and I implore you to check them all out, they are all gorgeous ladies with spectacular personalities I honestly can’t wait to see them all again. The other part of the day involved wandering IMATS, checking out some incredible make up skills and shopping for some great deals. Unfortunately, with Illamasqua and NYX both listed until close to the event, and not actually having stands, I ended up not buying as much as I had anticipated (my wallet took a sigh of relief). However I still left with everything else I had wanted to find!
Firstly, I picked up the Make Up For Ever HD primer, foundation and powder. I went to the Media Make Up stand mainly looking for the foundation, but with the deal they had going on for all three (for $109), it was impossible to say no! I’m glad I had the time to test colours out, there were so many but I did find a perfect match!
