Goodbye Google Reader! Hello…Options!?

Well as the 1st of July creeps closer, there is not a lot of time left for Google Reader. I’m personally really sad it’s leaving, but alas, I have found other options I’m learning to love. Below I’m going to list a few of the options I have found, and how you may want to follow Beauty Behind the Imperfections P.G.R. (Post Google Reader).

This is probably the most popular in the blogging circles. The feed is really clean and flows nicely. Searching for a blog you want to follow is as easy as searching their blog’s name or URL in the search bar. You can also sort your blogs into categories. Alternately, you can import your Google Reader feed, and for a awesomely detailed how-to of backing up your feed to use on other reader formats see Tine’s post at

Welcome! 2.0

Well here I am welcoming you all again, to my swanky new site, with a new look and it’s own .com and everything! I’m so excited to share with you all this new chapter. All the old posts are still here for you to check out, but I can¬†guarantee there are many more to come ūüôā

Firstly, I have to give a HUGE thank you to my wonderful boyfriend. He has been the brains of this move and rebuild and I would certainly not have it looking this good without him. He started the design from scratch and implemented it into WordPress and even made it mobile compatible, so it should be easy to read everywhere! In all honesty, I would be in the foetal position trying to do what he did (I even tried it, that lasted a whole of 5 minutes until I realised I was WAY out of my depth, and the only thing I could do was make banners and logos in Photoshop :P). And just to let you all know, there will still be a few tweaks here and there to help improve this site even more, so if you come across any bugs, PLEASE let me know so I can look into them, and *ahem* get the boy to fix them if it’s too difficult for me. ¬†He has earned some serious brownie points on this one ūüėČ

Tag: Why do I wear make up?

This little tag post comes to you thanks to Sophie at Don’t Stop Buying. And hopefully you will learn a little more about me and love of make up! And sorry for the lack of posts recently (which includes no February empties!), but I shall show you why in a upcoming post ūüėČ

1. When did you begin loving make up?

When I was much younger, I really loved make up. I loved going through my mum’s stash and having a little play, and even had quite a stash of nail polishes myself. In my very early in my teens I went through a phase thinking I was ‘over it’ and even threw out my nail polishes and vowed I would only every use lipgloss, never lipstick! But as I reached the back end of high school I started looking more into what I could actually do with make up. Then I found Youtube and beauty blogs, from there I haven’t really looked back.

2. How do you feel without make up?

While I love wearing make up, being without it doesn’t phase me. I think make up should be there to enhance your features, not hide them, and being comfortable in your own skin (literally!) really helps you appreciate make up when you wear it. We all have bad days with dark circles and breakouts, but those are the days where make up is your best friend ūüėČ

Confessions of a Beauty Blogger

The lovely Sophie from¬†Born to Buy¬†tagged me in this post (and you can check out her post here), so here are my confessions- cue the Usher music…

1. How many hours a week do you spend planning/writing/uploading posts?
It depends on the kind of post I’m writing. Some can take half an hour, while ones that¬†require¬†photos and extra editing can take longer. Also, I tend to work in bursts because I’m easily distracted¬†I work on multiple ideas at the same time.
2. Are you a spender or a saver?
I think I sit somewhere in the middle of the two. I’m quite partial to a impulse buy when I want, but I also know how to put aside money for when I do need it. I wasn’t like this for a long time, but I am learning.
3. When is it easiest for you to write your posts?
As much as I love to write, I can’t force it when I’m not feeling it (even this post has taken a couple of sessions to write). I can type out two or three posts in one sitting and not feel like doing anything for the next week. It’s not a time or place thing for me, I choose to strike while the iron is hot!
