I accumulated a fair amount of empties towards the end of 2014, and I need to start documenting them more. I actually really enjoy doing this, because I can go back and remind myself of the things I need to repurchase 😛 So since I have a bit of a backlog, I’m splitting up my first empties post for this year into two parts. And today’s will be skincare and body products, and next will be hair and make up. And disclaimer, this is over a pretty decent period of time, I don’y chance my skincare up THAT much!
Confession: I have a lot of nail polish. And I don’t wear all of it. So my hope with Mani Mondays is to weave my way through my collection, documenting it along the way. The first one up for 2015 is a very summery red/coral. May I introduce you to, Essie’s ‘Come Here!’
Welcome to 2015! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. And welcome to the beginning of my new site! It’s taken me a little while to sit down and write this post, because I wanted to really think about what I wanted from this blog, and maybe a little because I was enjoying my holidays 😉
When I started as Beauty Behind the Imperfections, it was to fill the void of not writing and to include my love of beauty. But I never really settled with the name. I wanted something a little snappier, and as I moved to include non beauty related posts, a name that didn’t leave me stuck to one topic. And The Inspired Effect was born!
So here we are, a new year and a new name. What does that mean?!
Well, as I still love beauty, the majority of my posts will still be around that topic. But I’m soon to move into my new home, and the possibilities really are endless. I want to document it all. Cooking, decorating, ORGANISING! I have some draft posts about the process of building a house that I didn’t feel fit well under my last name, so there will make an appearance in time. I’m so excited to go on this journey, and bring you all along for the ride!
I currently have three categories of posts. Beauty, Health and Lifestyle. As time goes on, I may add more, so certain topics are easier to find, but for now, you should be able to navigate okay. Otherwise there is a nifty search bar as well
How can you keep up to date?
Currently, you can like my Facebook page here (if you had liked Beauty Behind the Imperfections, you may already be connected!)

To be honest, when I started blogging I wasn’t 100% happy with my name. It is long, and a little bit of a tongue twister at the best of times, but I wanted to try and stick with it, because I love the meaning of why I chose it. And I loved the design of my site, but it always felt a little unfinished. Fast forward almost 3 years and when it was suggested we re do the blog layout, I figured it was the right time to overhaul it completely, name and all! So for the past few months, my awesome partner has been building my new look site from the ground up (catering to my sometimes nit picky requests!) while I have been learning photoshop more in depth, creating all my graphics. Meaning my posts have fallen by the wayside.
But I’m here to inform you that we are very very close to launching, and are just putting the final touches on. I do apologise in advance for any teething problems, both here and when the new site goes live, as I will be reformatting many of my older posts to be ready to import to the new site.
Now for the fun stuff. I have always been a beauty blog with other topics thrown in the mix. While my posts will still predominantly be beauty, I want to start adding more lifestyle posts in the mix. DIYs, decorating, new house posts, recipes, and other health related posts. So when you visit, you will have the option of seeing them all together, or selecting the category you want to see! So with that, if you have any requests, feel free to let me know, so I can start planning some even better content moving forward, because I’m beyond excited to share with you my new look!
If you’re like me, you’ve found the secret to not washing your hair every day. Dry shampoo. The first time I used it I was amazed at what it did for my hair. It was like the hair gods had delivered their saviour for the lazy time efficient. I love trying them out and want to share with you my five favourite dry shampoos!
