To be honest, when I started blogging I wasn’t 100% happy with my name. It is long, and a little bit of a tongue twister at the best of times, but I wanted to try and stick with it, because I love the meaning of why I chose it. And I loved the design of my site, but it always felt a little unfinished. Fast forward almost 3 years and when it was suggested we re do the blog layout, I figured it was the right time to overhaul it completely, name and all! So for the past few months, my awesome partner has been building my new look site from the ground up (catering to my sometimes nit picky requests!) while I have been learning photoshop more in depth, creating all my graphics. Meaning my posts have fallen by the wayside.
But I’m here to inform you that we are very very close to launching, and are just putting the final touches on. I do apologise in advance for any teething problems, both here and when the new site goes live, as I will be reformatting many of my older posts to be ready to import to the new site.
Now for the fun stuff. I have always been a beauty blog with other topics thrown in the mix. While my posts will still predominantly be beauty, I want to start adding more lifestyle posts in the mix. DIYs, decorating, new house posts, recipes, and other health related posts. So when you visit, you will have the option of seeing them all together, or selecting the category you want to see! So with that, if you have any requests, feel free to let me know, so I can start planning some even better content moving forward, because I’m beyond excited to share with you my new look!
If you’re like me, you’ve found the secret to not washing your hair every day. Dry shampoo. The first time I used it I was amazed at what it did for my hair. It was like the hair gods had delivered their saviour for the lazy time efficient. I love trying them out and want to share with you my five favourite dry shampoos!
Confession time: I’m a terrible beauty blogger. My ability to stick to a skincare routine in the past is almost laughable. While I’m vigilant with cleansing my face and trying to remove my make up, and if I was lucky, a little moisturiser. But after that, much of it had fallen by the wayside. So much so, that when I won the Clarins Double Serum in a competition, I tried it a couple of times, and it sat in my drawer unloved for too long. Enter me working on a product decrease, because NEWSFLASH! Things don’t get used up or work at all if you don’t use them, people! (sarcasm, much?)
Well, clearly I didn’t know what I was missing out on at the time. This little bottle is great!
So, I haven’t painted my nails in AGES (renovating ruins your motivation by having your mani ruined instantly, guys). So I was pretty excited for this little beauty to land on my doorstep. If you weren’t aware, OPI released a line to coincide with the release of the first Muppets movie, and they have done it again this time around for Muppets: Most Wanted, and there are some gorgeous shades!
Look at the glitters!!
And today I want to show you the most interesting (in my opinion) of the set: Kermit Me To Speak.
If you’re like me, you are skeptical about particular claims that products give. I’m actually surprised I gave this duo a go, as I usually make a bee line to hydrating and repairing hair products. But, this day I bought these I was at a loss as to what to choose (blame the amount of choice there!), and since I have curly hair, decided to give these a go. I didn’t expect a lot from this to be completely honest. I thought it was either going to be far too heavy for my hair or dry it out.
However, I was more than pleasantly surprised. When I let my hair dry naturally, I found the frizz I’d usually encounter was reduced significantly. This worked best when I combed the conditioner through my hair with a wide tooth comb in the shower, as that led to little to no combing afterwards. During the time I used this. I wore my hair out naturally more than I had before. And if you have curly hair, you know what a feat this actually is.
