Review: Redken Curvaceous Shampoo and Conditioner

If you’re like me, you are skeptical about particular claims that products give. I’m actually surprised I gave this duo a go, as I usually make a bee line to hydrating and repairing hair products. But, this day I bought these I was at a loss as to what to choose (blame the amount of choice there!), and since I have curly hair, decided to give these a go. I didn’t expect a lot from this to be completely honest. I thought it was either going to be far too heavy for my hair or dry it out.

However, I was more than pleasantly surprised. When I let my hair dry naturally, I found the frizz I’d usually encounter was reduced significantly. This worked best when I combed the conditioner through my hair with a wide tooth comb in the shower, as that led to little to no combing afterwards. During the time I used this. I wore my hair out naturally more than I had before. And if you have curly hair, you know what a feat this actually is.

Now the other great thing I found was that this isn’t too heavy for my hair, not leaving me feeling like I had a build up of product. Now as a small warning, I have a relatively dry scalp and hair, so still proceed with caution if you’re particularly oily, but I’d still give it a chance, as I think I might be a pleasant surprise! Also it smells great, and who doesn’t love great smelling hair? 😉

One gripe? And this isn’t actually specific to this product, but WHY must the conditioner always be smaller?! I have a lot of hair and use more conditioner EVERY TIME. Help a girl out??

The shampoo (300ml) and conditioner (250ml) retail for AU$22.95 a piece, but I bought it as a pack (with the curl creme) and saved myself some $$.

What product claim surprised you? And do you use more conditioner than shampoo?!
