It’s confession time. I have a problem. I can’t stick to one cleanser. Even when I find one I like (read: the last two cleanser reviews I have posted) I still venture out into the big old world of untried brands. It’s bitten me on the bum before, but with this product, This Works’ Clean Skin Gentle Cleanser, I’m was torn.
Now for my skin, it’s been incredible. It has combat all my dryness and didn’t break me out. The rosehip oil in this has done wonders. It smells lovely and my boyfriend loves it (bonus points). It really is a fantastic cleanser.
It is a cream cleanser. I have this thing about cream cleansers. I can’t convince myself that I’m getting a proper clean with a cream product. And I feel like I use twice as much product to get the same result. Now we can all agree that this is an irrational problem I have with cream cleansers in general. And it is unlikely I would have purchased it if it had mentioned that it was a cream cleanser on the packaging.
Do I regret buying it? No. Because it has proven to me that I can get a good result from a cream cleanser. To be honest, I started this review about half way through using it, but decided to wait it out a little. And the more I got though it, the more I came to love it. You’d have to find a pretty special cream cleanser to knock this off its pedestal. But it has certainly changed my tune on these products! Would I buy it again? At first it was a resounding maybe, but if I wanted a cream cleanser, this would be my choice. I still prefer a slight lather, and I have found cleansers that do so without being too harsh. But it is good to know there is a cream cleanser out there that I enjoy if my skin needs a extra moisture hit, or is reacting to something again.
You can buy the This Works Clean Skin Gentle Cleanser from Mecca Maxima for Approximately AU$39 or from ASOS for AU$37.63.
