I am a sucker for lip products. And if I can find one that lasts, it makes me a very happy camper. I was new to Klara Cosmetics when I first purchased the Kiss Proof Lips in #09. I saw them have a sale advertised on Twitter, and as soon as I saw these, I was sold. The Kiss Proof Lip Products claim to give 24 hours worth of matte lips in a variety of shades. #09 is a vibrant watermelon pink, and for me, leans on the warmer side. This is not a product you can wear with flaky lips as this will make any crack or flake stick out like a sore thumb. It is very matte and I also suggest taking care when applying, because it stains skin if left on too long. Sometimes the wand can get a little overloaded with product and make it difficult to get a precise application, so I will use a lip brush to outline the edges.
As for wear, I haven’t tested it for a full 24 hours (but I don’t think I’d like to), but I do find it lasts for 6+ hours, depending on how much eating and drinking you are doing. However, each time I have taken my make up off after wearing this, there is still some there to be removed. So with a very small amount of touch ups, this could keep on going all night. I have very dry lips personally, and have yet to find a long wearing lip product that doesn’t dry out my lips further. And from experience, this is where most of my product tends to come off. So the better prepared your lips are, the longer this will last. One thing I enjoy about this compared to my OCC Lip Tars, is that these don’t seem to bleed from my lip line. I have a invisible lip liner, but for these, it is not needed. Again, I think this has to do with its dryer formula, as it sets almost on immediate contact with your lips.
As for the claim in its name? It is most certainly kiss proof. I can say it is ‘boyfriend cheek’ approved 😛 The only time I find any transfer is while eating, and it is minimal, and I put it down to my lips drying out very quickly when using these type of products. The verdict? I want them ALL!
You can purcase the Kiss Proof Lips directly from Klara Cosmetic’s website or from selected stockists for AU$29.
