August & September Empties: Make Up Edition

Welcome to part 2 of 2 of my empties! This post is solely on make up, and as you’ll see I did a little bit of a mascara cull. Read on to see more!

Mascaras

Mascaras

Max Factor False Lash Effect- Probably one of my favourite mascaras. Sadly, it is well overpriced here, so I usually pick this up when visiting a Heat warehouse sale, for a 1/3 of the price.

Maybelline XXL Pro Curl- I don’t like lashes that are too built up with product, so the thought of the primer irked me. This sat in my drawer unloved, but it’s time to let it go.

Rimmel Sexy Curves- A really nice mascara. The brush is not to my taste but the formula was great.

Bourjois Volume Glamour Max Definition- Another mascara that sat in my drawer unloved. I don’t think it had a lot to do with the product itself though, more that I found others along the way that were much better for me.

Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express (Black Drama and Waterproof Version)- For me to buy the waterproof version of a mascara, I really have to like it, and The Falsies is fantastic. I much prefer the bristly brush over the more ‘plastic spike’ looking bristles, and the look this mascara gives is one I love when I’m looking for a dramatic look.

Other Make Up Items

Other MU

Australis Clear Brow Gel- Just needed replacing, but perfect for setting my brows.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder (in Translucent)- I was never sure if translucent was *actually* translucent, or just the lightest shade. Because some days it looked great, others, it looked like it washed me out. But the packaging on these is horrible. That lid won’t stay on for NO ONE.

Sally Hansen Mega Shine Top Coat- My first look into quick dry top coats and I have been through a couple of these. Fantastic shine but I have found others that don’t go as gluggy as quickly.

OPI Rapid Dry Top Coat- Again, great at drying quickly, but I only got a couple of uses from this little bottle before it was unusable, not sure if I’d want to et the full size for that to happen quickly.

Blistex Lip Balm- OMG YOU GUYS. I finished a lip balm before I lost it. This is cause for celebration (cue balloons falling from the ceiling). One of my favourite lip balms, and even better it has SPF. The tub is the only thing I dislike, it’s unhygienic and I wasted a lot of product getting it caught under my nail when it’s half empty (ew).

Another month, another lot of empties in the bin. Sightly therapeutic, right? Are you due for a mascara cull?

xx

I did think of you when you said you had trouble removing They’re Real, because this is what I use to get rid of it, but agree, if you can get a sample first go for it, since it seems like such a lo or hate product.
