Review: Neutrogena Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Fight & Fade Gel + Deep Cleansing Wipes

Now, I will preface this post by saying I’m pretty lucky when it comes to breakouts. I have never really suffered from terrible acne. But when I get breakouts, I get them BAD. Bad in the sense that they are the big, painful and hurt like a mother the whole time they are on your face. No white head to pop. Just sitting there taunting you with redness and PAIN. So naturally, I am always on the hunt to find products that decrease the time I feel like I have a red mountain of pain on my face.

I was lucky enough to be offered to try these products right in the middle of a time where I had just discovered my current cleanser was causing me to break out. I had two breakouts on my chin and neck that made me want to cry. Literally (FYI I have a low threshold for pain, but don’t let that distract you from how much pain I felt). I welcomed them with open arms into my routine and here are my thoughts.

2-in-1 Fight & Fade Gel

This stuff was my saviour! The moment I got it, I applied to my face, and after two days of applying ¬†morning and evening, it was almost gone. And the happiest part? THE PAIN WAS GONE. It smells quite potent, but that’s probably because it is. But it didn’t dry my skin out at all. I was expecting my skin to dry out considering how fast it worked (and how sensitive my skin can be), but since I kept up with my skincare routine, it did nothing of the sort! The packaging is much like any spot treatment, an almost pin point nozzle so you don’t squeeze out too much. This little tube will last you a while if you only get the occasional breakout.

To be honest, I was a little wary of these. In the past my skin has been quite reactive to face wipes, and I’ve got many a bad tingling feeling from them. I was thoroughly surprised (and relieved!) that these did not do the same. I didn’t use these daily, more so when I felt my skin was clogged and breakout prone. I’m unsure how well it actually cleaned my pores and prevented breakouts, but it certainly helped in the treatment of active ones. Also, considering my skin type, I’m happy to say these also did not dry my skin out. They have quite a strong scent, and I think that has a lot to do with the acne fighting ingredients. But knowing that, these are not wipes you would use to remove make up, and certainly don’t use them on your eyes.

Overall I think these are really good products to try if you suffer from dreaded breakouts, but the gel spot treatment is by far my shining light! And the best part, they are easy on the wallet and easy to find in stores.

You can purchase the Fight & Fade gel for AU$16.99 and the Deep Cleansing Wipes for AU$7.99 from Priceline, Target, Kmart, Supermarkets and Pharmacies.

Do you have a have a favourite was to banish blemishes? Do you make mountains out of molehills when it comes to pain? ūüėČ
