Antipodean Beauties: Glitter

Well week 2 of the Antipodean Beauties Challenge is right up my alley. If you didn’t already know, glitter is my favourite colour. Instinctively I would usually choose glitter nail polish, but I had to cut all my nails short (insert tears here), so I was forced to try something else.

I tried something that I’m usually fairly scared of showing up close: my eyeliner. And I’m actually happy with how it turned out! So I’ve done a Face of the Day to show off a bit of glitter eyeliner.

I left it pretty simple to show off the intense eyeliner. And practice must be paying off, since the black eyeliner I used underneath looked great!

For my face  used MAC’s Studio Fix Foundation, along with Rimmel’s Stay Matte Powder (That is well and truly almost finished!) and Benefit’s Fake Up Concealer. On my cheeks I used Topshop’s Cream Blush in Neon Rose and Benefit’s High Beam.

On my lips I used Face of Australia’s Lipstick in Lychee Crush with NYX’s Lipgloss in Natural over the top. I filled in my eyebrows with the Illamasqua Eyebrow Cake in Motto. For the eyes, I started off with a base of Illamasqua’s Precision Ink Liner in Abyss, then topped it off with a amazing silver glitter liner from Bloom in Lucky Star. My eyelashes were coated in Max Factor’s False Lash Effect Mascara and my lower lash line was lined with Estee Lauder Double Wear Eye Pencil in Onyx (not pictured).

I really love how this turned out, and while glitter eyeliner is not something I pull out to wear all that often, knowing that it can look like this means I now want ALL THE GLITTER LINERS! LA Splash and IMATS Sydney, I’m looking at you! Imagine all the colour possibilities!

Do you love glitter as much as I do? Or do you feel like your channelling you inward Edward Cullen if you wear any?
