FOTD: Neutral Eyes + Bright Lips!

I don’t seem to post enough ‘Face of the Day’ kind of posts. So I thought since I’ve been pretty absent in the last week, I’d share with you a pretty standard go-to look for me. I love bright lips of any kind so often my eyeshadow choices are quite neutral so I can get away with my bright lip choices. And today’s look features one of my favourite lip products!

Yep, lips are the same colour as my top. Not obsessed at all *cough*

Firstly, I used Too Faced’s Primed and Poreless Primer. I don’t give this primer nearly enough love. So good at making pores less noticable! And I found out how well Illamasqua’s Skin Base Foundation really works when using it on top of this primer. I think I have found my ‘going out and photos will be taken’ base. Along with that, Maybelline’s Fit Me Concealer covered up my under eye shadows nicely, I set it with Maybelline’s Fit Me Pressed Powder, which I LOVE. Such a pretty finishing powder, and even though I have dry skin, it never looks flaky. Blush, Bronzer and highlighter consisted of MAC’s Well Dressed, Maybelline’s Fit Me Bronzer (sense a theme that I like that line?!) and NARS Multiple in Luxor. Although the bronzer is quite sheer, it is perfect for day to day for me.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Barely Beige on the lid, with Benefit’s Creaseless Cream Shadow in Get Figgy through the crease and outer lid. I’m happy to ignore my fail at applying Illamasqua’s Liquid Liner in Abyss, but it is there. Covergirl’s Clump Crusher Mascara lives up to the ‘no clumps’ claim for me, so much so I haven’t used another mascara since getting it! And I filled in my eyebrows with Rimmel’s Sacandaleyes Liner in Taupe, a perfect colour while I have slightly lighter hair. And finally, set with Australis’ Clear Eye and Brow Gel.

The only product I am wearing on my lips is OCC’s Lip Tar in January Rising. I don’t believe you can get this colour any more, but with the shade range and the ability to mix them, you could certainly make one close to this. I love these for their lasting power, but beware of dry lips. If you’re wearing one on a night out, bring a clear gloss to keep your lips hydrated!

What’s your go-to look?
