Another week down, and it’s getting a little bit darker and that little bit colder. Don’t get me wrong, I love winter. Coats, scarves and boots are the best, but it is still a little bit of a shock. And photo taking is difficult when it gets dark at 6pm!
After seeing Adam Hills and Wil Anderson at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, I’m determined to take some advice from their shows: make good out of crappy situations and TOUCH THE FROG! Or in laymen’s terms, don’t let your ego get in the way of doing something amazing.
I’m not one to shy away from a good sale, and 40% off all cosmetics at Priceline is just that. It is still on tomorrow (the 24th of April) so definitely go if you have been lusting after anything! Lets get into what I picked up
I got the Rimmel Perfect Match foundation since I loved the gel version so much, as well as the radiant rose highlighter. I also picked up the Revlon BB Cream, after hearing good things about it.
So I’m hoping to make this a regular thing, a sort of thoughts of the week, with just a little bit of everything 😀 So rather than a day in the life or a week in the life of, you get some thoughts in the life of…me!
So the average weather has put a halt on me finishing my room, since I can’t paint when it’s wet, hoping to get it done this week!
I’ve been cheating on My Kitchen Rules with The Voice. Although I miss it a little, the distinct lack of the word ‘babe’ has made it that much easier.
Being sick sucks. All I wanted to do at the start of the week was sleep, and I have finally been able to hear in stereo today!
After finishing the first two books in the Divergent series (and finding out the final book isn’t out until OCTOBER) I started reading Matched by Ally Condie. Not convinced so far but will read on.
This point in the month would usually be where my reviews of subscription boxes would be posted, but this post is a little bit different. For a while, Australia longed for the subscription boxes both our US and UK counterparts had. Then, all of a sudden, BAM! We were inundated with choices. For a while I was subscribed to all of them, but now I am comfortable not being subscribed to any.
If you go back about a year and a half ago, so many companies wanted to give us sample boxes. The premise is awesome, and when executed correctly, is just that. But sadly, I feel like I have outgrown them a little. They start at $15 a month, which if you have the disposable income to do so, is not too much to outlay considering their value most of the time. And knowing you have a little box of goodies coming to you every month is pretty great.
So for the last two months I have not posted any empties posts, and I’m here to finally give you a little update as to why.
Since February, I have been renovating my bedroom! It kind of came out of nowhere. And All started because I wanted to colour match my Tiffany & Co. box with paint. Yep. That’s all it took. And holy cow did I bite off more than I could chew. There has been sweat, yelling, tears and some progress in between all of that. I’m doing this for the most part on my own, getting a little help from a few people when they can. I’m still not quite finished but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! After 24 years (yes, my whole life) of having the same room, it is soon to be updated!
With all that comes very little space, my stuff is littered throughout the house, I’m sleeping with my mattress on the floor and I have ZERO room to keep used up products. So no empties. But all the sorting is making me pull out things I’d forgotten about and have used some up, win-win!
Anyway, here is a few progress pictures of how I’m going
