If you can’t tell by the name of my blog, I’m not one for being perfect. I misspell words*, I trip over air and I certainly do not have perfect skin. But to me, that’s the beauty of people. We are all different, and that should be embraced. Well, with Illamasqua’s new collection I’mperfection (see what they did there?!), they do just that. They want to see your freckles, scars and beauty marks, in all their glory. Yep, scary right? Well it doesn’t have to be 😉 There’s no need to hide behind make up, use it to show yourself off! I implore you to check out the behind the scenes video of this collection and see what the leaders of this company say about imperfection and beauty, it really is lovely to see. And check out these gorgeous photos from the campaign. Every single person is beautiful, no matter their imperfections.
This collection has so many gorgeous things, one being the blush duos. Because two blushes are better than one right? (RIGHT!). I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to try duo number two, and it contains the blushes Katie and Ambition. This collection also contains a liquid eyeliner in Abyss, which I purchased during my Illamasqua Makeover.
Katie is described as a candy pink, but on the skin it looks much more wearable than what I picture a candy pink to be. Ambition is almost like a bronzed pink, with gold shimmer through it. Both colours are well pigmented and blend really easily. Katie is something I could easily wear to work, while Ambition is perfect for those nights out, your perfect day to night palette! You can go light or heavy handed, with the colour being very buildable, as are the other Illamasqua blushes I own.
Liquid eyeliner is scary to me, but after having this used on me, and then buying it myself, I’m a little more versed in the art of liquid eyeliner application. This black is BLACK. Extremely dark and pigmented. Be careful though, it goes on quite wet (as you can see in my swatch), so be careful of smudging before it dries. And because I often feel like I have ten thumbs, this is something I’m still getting used to. But once it does, it’s not going anywhere. Make sure you have a decent remover on hand at the end of the day!
*In the spirit of embracing imperfection, I have used spell check 9 times in this post, just so you know 😉
