Confessions of a Beauty Blogger

The lovely Sophie from Born to Buy tagged me in this post (and you can check out her post here), so here are my confessions- cue the Usher music…

1. How many hours a week do you spend planning/writing/uploading posts?
It depends on the kind of post I’m writing. Some can take half an hour, while ones that require photos and extra editing can take longer. Also, I tend to work in bursts because I’m easily distracted I work on multiple ideas at the same time.
2. Are you a spender or a saver?
I think I sit somewhere in the middle of the two. I’m quite partial to a impulse buy when I want, but I also know how to put aside money for when I do need it. I wasn’t like this for a long time, but I am learning.
3. When is it easiest for you to write your posts?
As much as I love to write, I can’t force it when I’m not feeling it (even this post has taken a couple of sessions to write). I can type out two or three posts in one sitting and not feel like doing anything for the next week. It’s not a time or place thing for me, I choose to strike while the iron is hot!

4. What makes writing posts comfortable for you?
Pretty much the same as above. When I’m in the mood and mindset to write, I can go for ages. But I always need a snack nearby. Strawberries, cheese and crackers, even the sneaky Malteesers can do the trick 😉 And have notice a little bit of motivating music seems to help!
5. What’s your worst make up/hair habit?
Currently, it is forgetting to moisturise my body after my shower. I always forget and wonder why I’m not using my moisturisers up. Working on fixing this at the moment!
6. What’s one quote you wish the world would live by?

“Don’t exchange what you want most for what you want at the moment.” Too many of us overlook the best things for us, for something that is short lived. Appreciate the things you love most and never take them for granted.

7. How long do you spend getting ready everyday?

Post shower, about 20 mins, more if I blow dry or style my hair.

8. What’s your favourite post on your blog?

My favourite post isn’t actually beauty related, but about my love of pole dancing for exercise. Sadly, my hours at work have denied me attending classes the last few months, but I will go back. It is so much fun and all of you should give it a go at least once! You’ll use muscles you didn’t even know existed 😉

9. Who is a beauty blogger that you think deserves more subscribers that they have?

I think a few people that read my blog are well aware of her, but if you aren’t you need to check out Claire from Claire De Blog, she deserves all of your attention. Her make up skills are amazing for such a young girl and she is utterly lovely and I’m glad to call her my friend.

10. What’s one this you’re excited about in the coming year?

At the moment, the boyfriend and I are considering an overseas holiday to the USA (hello shopping!!). But apart from that, I’m looking forward to hopefully finding full time work in my chosen industry.

11. What’s been your favourite blogging moment?

I had to be this year at IMATS in Sydney. Meeting so many people who I have connected with online for some time, and having the BEST day with them all. I can’t wait to do it again and meet even more amazing people!

12. How long does it take to prep for a post?

It really depends on the kind of post. Sometimes some posts require more photos and photo editing, sometimes a quick snap and sitting down to type is all it takes. But if you were to ask me about posts on nutrition, they seem to have an indefinite timeline. When I want to give advice on something like that, I like to do my research, and give the most proper and well researched answer out there. That means I research all sides. This is mainly why I haven’t written many of those yet. I have so many ideas, my brain seems to be unable to organise a coherent flow of thoughts. But I’m working on it! 🙂

13. Are you wearing jeans/skirt right now or are you wearing pyjama bottoms?

Pyjama shorts all the way! Throwing it out there, Cotton On Body’s shorts are the bomb diggity (and I DID just say bomb diggity)
14. What are you most proud of in your life?

Finishing university and my post graduate certificate have to be near the top of my list. While I still am looking for full time work in my industry, I know that will come. I do want to go back and study more, and complete my Masters, but for now, knowing I have completed what I have makes me proud.

So there you have it! And as for who I tag, I tag YOU. No, not you, the one behind you. Well okay, you too. I want to hear all your confessions, because really, I’m a little nosy like that 😉

If you do this post, leave it as a comment below, I’d love to check it out 🙂

Have a lovely day!
